Sixth Form Admissions for September 2025
We are keen to welcome applications to our outstanding Sixth Form.
Sacred Heart Sixth Form is a caring and dynamic Sixth Form, offering a wide range of A-Level subjects and BTEC courses in a smaller class-size setting - because we are not vast, we take time to get to know and treat every Sixth Former as an individual. Thus, we can offer a level of guidance and care not available elsewhere. As a result, many of our Sixth Formers develop a close relationship with their subject teachers, Form Tutors and with the Head of Year and Head of Sixth Form. We pride ourselves on good communication with students and with their parents.
We are an outstanding Sixth Form as demonstrated in our Ofsted report 2023, and most recently being ranked by ALPs in the top 25% of schools and colleges nationally in terms of progress and value added at Sixth Form. We provide outstanding teaching - with a world-class designation as a High Performance Learning (HPL) school, recognising the potential of each individual student. Our care begins with the help we offer in choosing A Level and BTEC subjects and then continues in our close monitoring of academic progress. We help students to reach their academic potential and then make the right decisions for the future.
We also offer a variety of enrichment and extracurricular activities, including trips; debating society, music events including Battle of the Bands; sporting activities including rowing club, netball and basketball; and both the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Our excellent pastoral care and guidance is special at Sacred Heart and tailored to meet the needs of today’s young adults. In addition to Pastoral Support Managers, we also employ our own in-house team of counsellors and psychotherapists.
We have dedicated Sixth Form facilities, including reserved study areas and our extensive Sixth Form Common Room with places to work but also sofas for more relaxed chats and socialising.
Sixth Form is very definitely a time for self-development and fun, and we offer a wide range of activities which reflect the emphasis we put on helping students to become happy, well-balanced and successful young people.
We believe the Sixth Form at Sacred Heart provides an excellent education and is the perfect stepping stone for university, college and life beyond full-time education. It is our aim that by the time that our Sixth Formers leave school, they have become mature, successful, well-rounded young people, with a strong set of moral values to guide them through adult life.
We are keen to welcome applications from all students. To understand more about our unique school please view our Prospectus and Sixth Form Booklet and the Curriculum Course Guide 2025 which details our entry criteria and admissions process. In addition, do take time to read the testimonials from our alumnae and watch our Sixth Form video.
